My boys and I were early playtesters (in the fall of 2013)вЂ¦ so the actual physical appearance of Rob DaviauвЂ™s magnum opus was really exciting for us.IвЂ™ve always enjoyed Jeff AllerвЂ™s Alea iacta estвЂ¦ so I was excited to see it back in print and in a new edition with a theme I like (Indiana Jones-ish exploration) and more development to give the game greater variety.I also wrote a review of Stellar Conflict for the Opinionated Gamers. Originally published way back in the day by Cheap*** Games as Light Speed, this reboot is a higher quality version of an old favorite.I wrote a review of the game system and the app for the Opinionated Gamers earlier this year. WeвЂ™ve played more in the last year than we played in the previous two years combined. The tablet (and now smartphone) app for Descent: Journeys in the Dark (2 nd edition) is a revelation.I wasnвЂ™t exactly sure what to do with the following games вЂ“ all of them had new editions or expansions this year, but they are not really new to me.
